SEE, THINK, WONDER Video Observation

Will you help us SEE, THINK, WONDER?

Last week during our team meeting we watched this video and did rounds of See- Think -Wonder. It is so interesting to hear everyone's thoughts since we all see, think, and wonder a bit differently. Originally the idea was to post the thoughts we shared at the meeting on our wall. Since Debbie mentioned that it would be a good idea to share this video with the parents, we decided to share it with everyone so that we can post what you see, think and wonder also. We would LOVE to hear from our parents! You can reply with as many see, think and/or wonder as you'd like. Even one thought is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Your Infant South Teachers

  1. I can't view the video as it is set to private. How do I fix that?

  3. This made my day!

    I see:
-Adi so enjoying building a relationship with another baby
-Adi's trust in Dilcia as he checks in with her to make sure what he's doing is "ok"
-Both Adi and Theo starting to share and show affection
-(I hear them) using sounds to communicate in a more nuanced way

    I think:
-Adi loves his time at PTCC
-Adi knows that Theo is a little older and takes cues from him
-The last month has been a real explosion of language, motor skills and thought and it's so much fun to see him practicing with other babies

    I wonder:
-Is Theo connecting "my sock" and "your sock"?
-How will Adi remember this time?
-How much of their personalities are already evident and how much will change as they acquire more language?

  4. I see... Theo showing his friend Adi a piece of paper that he found.
I see (hear).... Theo and Adi babbling in response to each other.
I see... Theo and Adi greeting each other in the morning

I think... Theo has been starting to show people objects he finds interesting. It's fun to see him show another baby an object

I wonder... What was Theo thinking when he crawled over to Adi?

  5. I'm struck by the care with which Theo approaches Adi. He moves slowly and gently.
Adi's excitement appears to build as Theo gets closer and the longer Theo sticks around.
I'm intrigued by how Adi moves his arms and hands up and down, as his smile gets bigger. It seems like an extension of his smile and adoration for Theo.
This is such a perfect example of how capable very very young children are. They are keenly aware of the people they interact with and they have sophisticated thoughts and actions that are expressed as a result. Group care is a unique setting where we get to see babies of the same age interact day after day and build connections with one another.
This video clip fills my heart with joy. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.
